Domino.After i analysed the Arctic Monkeys video, i researched the band and found out the label they are signed with; Domino.
They are an independent record company based in London. They also have various other companies in the United States, Germany and France. The company was founded in 1993 by Laurence Bell and his partner, the labels first release was Sebadoh - Rocking the Forest, which was released in the UK. Many of their early releases were from American artists which did not bring the company much fame, so they started to release more established bands songs and more high profile such as releases from Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys, and now, Domino is one of the longest running and most successful independent record labels in the UK.
Their first UK number 1 album was in 2005 with Franz Ferdinand's You Could Have Its So Much Better, followed by their first UK number 1 single, with Arctic Monkeys I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor.
This is a synopsis of the company. Now you have found them, explain why you chose them. How/ why would this institution be chosen for your production? refer to genres produced/ distributed by them - also look at their range of representations, target audience and how they research their audience.

Hollie: You are currently working at a low Level 2 - there is minimal research into similar products but a good level of care in presenting your work.
ReplyDeleteTarget: You need to complete the research into music videos and update your initial ideas. I also need to see some good research in to the TA! You are not working on your blog regularly enough - you haven't posted since 20th September! This means time management is not good at this point on the A2 course.
